Memories
It was an untrodden path for me
Which i walked with glee
Without thinking that time would flee
Changing things including me.
Today having walked this path for so long
I'hv realised, everything once dear to me has gone
And all I have is just the memories to take along.
But still I want to cherish everything that comes my way
Keep all the happiness and hush sorrows away
To be left with a bundle of memories of joyful days.

After a long long time
Leaving my shackles behind
With closed eyes, I ran back in my mind
To see my life in rewind.
And it left me in pain
Coz all I could do was complain
Of having lived being foolish & lame
Trying to please others in life's game.
It was then that it struck me
That when I was three
I was truly happy and free
And without trying, others were happy with me.
On realizing that, I opened my eyes
Just to see being surrounded by lies.
And in that moment, I decided to be me
As when I am happy, everybody is happy with me.

Are we merely studying for "pay packages" ??
21st century talk of the town...
Scene 1.
Aunty 1 - Did you hear that????
Aunty 2 - Mrs. Sharma's Chinku got selected in IIT !! WOW...so lucky, now she doesn't need to worry about her son's future. And obviously now being an IITian will fetch him amazing packages after 4 yrs. His life is all set now.
Scene 2.
Aunty 1 - You know Mrs. Sharma was telling me that after a B.E from IIT Chinku plans to do an MBA from IIM.
Aunty 2 - Oh God he'll get such amazing packages...I think then he will not get anything below 20 or 30 lakhs.
Scene 3.
Newspaper headlines... "Braking all records an IIM graduate bags a hefty package of 35 lakhs"
Scene 4.
Father - Beta will you become a doctor?
Son - Noooo!! I don't want to study so much & a doctor doesn't get a good package in the starting of the career. I definitely want to earn a handsome package!!
Well these are just a few instances that I have jotted down here and am sure you must have experienced some similar instances sometime in your life. Or maybe you might have experienced some even worst scenarios.
But what do you think, does this kind of "package" driven education hold any value. Is it merely a grand package for which we want to study? Don't you feel that by following such an education system we are creating unnecessary pressures on ourselves and spoiling our otherwise cool n chilled out life.
I mean making money is not et al. bad...coz in reality everything comes with a price tag!! But if we are so demanding for money then why wait till our graduation and post graduations end...why not start earning right after our schooling. Why keep taking CAT, MAT, AIMET, IITJEE and so many other mind boggling exams? Am sure if we put these college years in working in the fields of our interests we will bag equally good or maybe even better packages. And with that the practical insight will help us in ensuring our future pay cheques.
Had Warren Buffet, L.N Mittal, Dhirubhai Ambani, Sachin Tendulkar, Amitabh Bachchan would have thought about studying for packages, they would not have made the fortune that they have.
So let's get more real, practical and not study merely for earning money. Coz as baba Ranchordas Shamaldas Chanchad aka Rancho says "follow excellence and money will follow" :)

From oh no!! to wow!!
"Writing"....does that sound heavy...do you feel tired just by seeing this 7 letter word??? Well its common. It happens to almost 60% of the people who have passed their education phase and to 90% of the people who are still studying. And I was no different too!! Just the thought of holding a pencil and scribbling a string of words to form a sentence used to be tiring and writing essays seemed like climbing Mount Everest...phew!! I could never understand how could people write so much. That was so much pain.
And then one fine day I expressed my thoughts in words...don't get imaginative coz I was making notes for Business Studies. A subject that really intrigued me. The words 'strategy', 'delegation', 'planning', 'management'...they all sounded musical. Anyways these could intrigue me only till my final exams.
But during that "notes making" process I actually liked writing. So I tried to take this liking to another level, and wrote my first poem...my first piece of creative writing. Believe me it was so thrilling. I just could not believe myself, it felt as if a new window had been opened. A window to a different world. A world of feelings, thoughts and words. I had figured out a new way of expression. And it was simply fantastic.
Slowly this one time charm started to grow more and more and I went on writing. Suddenly the most scary thing had become a thing I was most fond of. And still am. The small thrilling experience helped me shape my career. And now I feel elated to be called as a writer. Coz everyday I get to look at the things from a new perspective, learn something new, unlearn something old. Everyday I get to create something new, re-look at the things in a way that I never knew.
Wow what a wonderful thing writing is!!

When Life Gives You Lemons Become A Shady Used Car Dealer ;)
or you can make lemonade too!!
Not getting anything...no problem...just read on. We often get to hear that life is not easy but neither is any sport or cooking or driving. Well I never felt even passing mathematics was ever easy...Phew!! Those dreadful equations gave me shivers, thank god it's over.
So the point is nothing seems easy until we pull up our socks and become steadfast to deal with it. Everyday at every age we face a situation that becomes troubling. And it takes so much of our attention that rather than using our cool heads we start brooding over it. We sulk n sulk n sulk and finally realize that the problem still persists and instead of fading away it has grown huge. So why give it so much of importance in our otherwise happy lives. Why not just drift away our thoughts and concentrate on figuring out a possible solution...why not just treat it as a puzzle that needs some little thinking to put all the pieces in place. Why not simply remember that it's just a situation and we can always come up with our own creative ways to deal with it. After all every lock has a key and if we cannot find the right key then we can always break the lock.
So if anytime you feel low or bogged down or irritated because of someone or feel pissed off with your life...then just take a deep breath and relax. Coz life will keep giving you lemons or what you may call as "problems". But you cannot just go on piling them and end up with a heap of rotten, stinking lemons. So the 2nd rule after 'following your heart' is "become a shady used car dealer". Don't forget SHADY, it's most important. Become exactly like the car dealer who knows all the persistent and expected spontaneous flaws in his car but is adamant to make the best deal out of it. Become mean n selfish...stingy n calculative to the core of your heart but make sure to live every single day to its best. Coz we are worth it...isn't it!

And here it goes again "follow your heart and be happy"...sounds cliched, isn't it? Surely it does coz these days every other person, columnist, psychologist, motivational speaker is repeating the same thing. And I keep wondering why suddenly the so much familiar term 'happiness' is gaining center stage in our lives. Are we not happy? I mean we are living in the best possible times...earning sky-rocketing salaries, living superbly fancy lifestyles, using technology which has brought the world to our fingertips, we are connected with everyone anytime anywhere in this global village and we are still not at peace with ourselves? Why? What is it that is hindering our pursuit of happiness? Why is it that today everybody is being so stressed out...why in such a fantastic time people are undergoing troubled relationships...committing suicides? Is there something seriously wrong?
Sadly yes! Because in our quest for happiness we are being blind followers. And it starts right from childhood...going to school, graduating, doing an MBA, choosing a career, the sequence goes on and on. At every point of making our choice, we follow. And ironically in such a "follower regime" we don't follow our heart, we don't do what we want to do...but do what others have done or want us to do. So how can we be happy? How can a cat be happy in the skin of a mouse!
But what is the solution to this vicious circle?
It's our "heart". The one thing that makes us feel so many different emotions. So let's just be a blind follower and follow our heart. Coz its the best guide to attain happiness.

And it starts right from childhood...going to school, graduating, doing an MBA, choosing a career, the sequence goes on and on. At every point of making our choice, we follow.
